Pranayama – Breathing and the control of the body’s energy

The fourth limb of yoga is pranayama. According to Rama Jyoti Vernon, the meaning of pranayama is the control of the vital winds, breaths or forces of the body, through all three respiratory functions; inhalation, exhalation and retention.
